A Highway Is Crumbling. New York Can't Agree on How to Fix It

Very sadly, I'd assume the "can't agree" deadlock will persist until there's a major collapse, à la Champlain Towers South. At which point the spectacle of charred bodies amid smoking rubble will give the pro-fixit coalition the cards they need to "win".
