Ask HN: What is the black line for at the top of the screen?
Thin Black Bar Occasionally, there will be a thin black bar at the top of the top bar, in memoriam of a significant figure in the tech/science community dying. A Hacker News submission about the death will usually be on the front page at that time.
The next question is how did someone with an account from the very inception of this forum sail through to now without incidentally finding this out?
Not sure - I just thought it was a css bug
