Ask HN: What are your side projects? 9/12
I am working on http://www.youfm.org
This is the side project I'm using to learn programming. I built the first(current) version using PHP + Javascript without any frameworks. The upcoming version is rewritten in Rails and Backbone.JS (which I think was a mistake). The new version has additional features like playlists, mobile-compatibility, the ability to resize the video, bookmarkable URLs, etc.
Do you think rails or backbone was a mistake, or both? I'm a huge fan of backbone and would urge you to stick with it. It pays off!
Campus Maps - http://www.getcampusmaps.com
It's the most accurate, easiest to use campus map app in existence. Just expanded to my second school, UVA with others planned soon!
Very cool, great idea.
It's amazing how much effect comments like this have on a developer. You sir, just made my day. Have a hi-five. hi-five
Right now I'm working on www.dolisted.com.
You enter things you have finished and it presents you with a graph of # of tasks/day with a summary of each day displayed as a tool-tip.
It is currently at the MVP stage, feel free to provide feedback.
This is awesome! really excited to try it out.
Thanks for the support. Feel free to email me: alex@dolisted.com with any feedback or questions.
