The online world is optimized for algorithms, not humans.

How do we make sure we aren’t influenced by the extreme bias of these algorithms and the suggestions from the platforms we use every day? They’re so deeply rooted in our lives that it’s hard to even notice the influence anymore.

Personally, I only visit two forums, Hacker News and another, both very heavily moderated and civil. When some post seems to be, or links to an article or website that is "algorithmic," users call it out immediately.

The downside is that their users largely repost news items, and the fact that news reporting is either fake (by admission of publishers) or influenced by mega-wealthy owners with an agenda (i.e. to become zetta-wealthy by whatever means) says that we may unintentionally reflecting bias.
