Prusa Research is launching a new, redesigned Prusament spool featuring the OpenPrintTag, an open-source NFC tag for smart spools. The OpenPrintTag standard aims to unify the industry with offline functionality, reusability, and brand independence. The new spool design includes a plastic core with a locking mechanism for improved reliability and easier refilling.
