Hi HN, this is Miguel, and I built a simulation of what the tech industry will look like in 2027. We hear a lot about job loss, AI literacy, and in general the fear of the future... and I wanted to capture these feelings through an immersive experience. Check it out here: https://marbleos.com

Sam Altman says that there will be mass layoffs, but many “new jobs” will be created, and when asked they say “AI literacy”... but no one has a clear picture of what this would actually look like?

I saw a recent government article titled "AMERICA’S TALENT STRATEGY: BUILDING THE WORKFORCE FOR THE GOLDEN AGE" written by the U.S. Department of Labor, and I wanted to explore what it could look like when the government intervenes in this bleak future. It discusses “work-based learning models” in partnership with corporations, government-assisted “Registered Apprenticeships” for upskilling, not sending people to college again, etc.

The simulation was built from scratch using React, JS, CSS, and HTML. I hope this project gives a feeling of reflection, motivation for growth, and empowerment.

Very impressive, especially the interactive chats! I encourage you to make even more projects like this.

I think the actual experience would be more kafkaesque - less acqnowledgement that "there is a problem", ineffective for-profit middleman agencies that only exist to collect a government grant.

Wow! Just amazing and surreal. Great going there, Miguel.

The federal sponsorship of apprenticeships seems unlikely for the ideology of the current ruling class. "UBI with extra hoops to jump through" doesn't fit at all. I admit that narrowly focused training via apprenticeship fits better than broad education via college.

I took inspiration from (https://www.dol.gov/newsroom/releases/osec/osec20250812), which mentions: "Demand-Driven Strategies: Expand proven work-based learning models like Registered Apprenticeships and align education programs to career pathways in priority industries to ensure direct connections to employer needs."

I was surprised to find this coming from the current admin for sure...

Pretty cool, I got as far as secret messages urging me too engage the project chat but there was none, I just get redirected to a blank express project on withmarble

Maybe that's the point?
