Contrary to what you might have heard, Europe is a 21st-century success story
monocle.comA very hard sell to cultures aiming for billionaires rather than a tide lifting all boats. That said, not all of Europe is a success story, it's patchy. But I overwhelmingly agree with the sentiment. The welfare state is a massive success story, compared to what came before.
Will Europe survive the necessary rearming and the swing to a strongly defensive eastern border? Or will the tensions between member states be exploited to tear it apart?
