Ask HN: Stuck on Cloudflare's Human Verification
I can't access some services because of Cloudflare's human verification. It just keeps trying to verify me.
Well, I'm a human. Now what? Never open internet again because I'm not welcome? Likely an IP reputation thing. If you are using a VPN or routing your network through a cloud IP or VPS, try not doing that. Also check your devices if they've been compromised. Maybe you're part of a botnet. Probably by this point my fingerprint is tainted. I appreciate the suggestions, thank you. Have you been repeatedly banned anywhere? (Reddit, Facebook etc). The only time I've seen someone have a "tainted fingerprint" was because they were a relentless incel troll who kept getting banned on reddit over and over. (Not saying this is your case but... I've had people say interesting things on this site at times) I used to run a search engine out of my living room, so I know the experience. IP reputation is usually reset after a while assuming whatever got you flagged stops, so it's not necessarily permanent. Assuming of the CF members on HN look into it they would likely need the URL and the time you got the error and any error codes present before the verification loop. Cloudflare does not play well with mozilla (for many it won't load site) and that topic has come up numerous times. If you're using some other browser it might be something else cloudflare has got all exccited about. It sort of sucks since it's what I use ... am I going to bow down and use some other browser - nope. Some business are losing a lot of customers ... it's their choice and cloudflare are not going to fix it since this problem has been dragging on over a year iirc.
