Looking for a new job, but want to be picky
I am in the process of looking for a new job (I am a senior software engineer - web related mostly).
Now there are websites like linkedin but i find all the jobs there not really interesting. What other job search sites are there? I would love to be able to enter my interests and skills and get a list of companies that could be a match. Or enter a list of companies i like and find similar.
For example I would like to work in the space industry but i find it hard to find all companies, big or small. I created a daily email newsletter for remote engineering jobs if you're interested: https://bloomberry.com/blog/remote-jobs/ (it has different separate emails for frontend, backend, etc) It scrapes jobs from over 80,000 company websites and a lot of jobs aren't on places like Linkedin or Indeed. Would be handy if you could define a search term for the jobs you want in your inbox AIs can help with the initial searching but specialized domains have their own networks, of recruiters, relationships, processes. Places with high demand roles will see no purpose in being overwhelmed from open public postings. Space itself will have security requirements. In short this is a networking problem, not a googling problem. If you are a senior developer, forget about job hunting and instead use your personal network(ask anyone whom you know to put in a word with their boss - not HR as you want to go through the internal hiring process and not the public one), or look for companies that interest you and simply contact them. To put it bluntly, job hunting via usual means is for suckers. You need to be proactive, assertive, and take direct action.
