Ask HN: Any important paper in AI apart from attention is all you need?

The recent openai science paper seemed to be controversial.

For me, I'm not designing AI or operating it. I'm holding off on reading any "paper" those arent for me and wont help me in any way.

It lets me put my focus on something that will benefit me.
