Ask HN: Product vs. Platform, which has better job security?
In terms of job security, would you rather work on a product oriented team (focused directly on customers) or a platform team (building things for other engineers within the company)?
If a company were to do a layoff, for example, I’m not quite sure how they would prioritize.
