you should familiarize yourself with site guidelines. perhaps lurk a bit and learn the unwritten heuristics of commenting or submitting
If you were expecting it to appear on the front page, that isn't guaranteed. It will be on the "new" page, but won't appear on the front (default) page unless it gets sufficient upvotes.
I, uh, may have been confused by this the first time I posted a submission.
