FDA approves new Covid-19 vaccines in US but limits who can get them

>Robert F Kennedy Jr, the US health secretary, said in a post on Twitter/X that Covid vaccine “mandates” under Joe Biden are now rescinded and that the vaccines will be available to those at high risk.

So they mandate ... who can't get them?

> Kennedy, who previously founded an anti-vaccine group, has long questioned the proven benefits of vaccines and spread unfounded concerns about their safety.

And then they end the text with a quote from a PR expert founder of a pro-vaccine NGO:

> Fatima is an experienced advocate, strategist, and crisis management expert with a background spanning political campaigns, civil rights advocacy, and corporate communications. She has worked with leading PR agencies such as Hill & Knowlton and Porter Novelli, as well as independently advising high-profile clients on crisis management, media relations, and public affairs.

I see 0 expertise in medicine, clinical trials or other scientific work. That reduces these statements to agenda driven PR:

> “Our healthcare system is now solidly anti-children and anti-science,” Fatima Khan, co-founder of the Protect Their Future group, which advocates for vaccine access.

> “The data are clear: young children – especially infants – remain highly vulnerable to severe illness and hospitalization from Covid-19. By restricting access to safe, evidence-based vaccines, federal leaders are choosing ideology over science.”
