Ask HN: What happened to John Carmack's AGI company?
It was launched with reasonable fanfare, took a cool $20m first round , and I have just realized it’s been three years already and I believe nothing was launched. This talk is interesting: Keen Technologies Research Directions: John Carmack, Upper Bound 2025 I watched an interview with him not long ago. Essentially he said the company where he works now is pure research and no business. I think he said there are three people in it altogether. He’s probably still working on it, as sometimes he mentions something in that area of work on Twitter. Sure but AI innovation is moving very fast, so three years is a long long time. Curious if he has some massive innovative work that’s going to change everything or it’s all just going to be a bust. Hypevestment
