> High court’s misrepresentation of January 8, 2023 riot as a “coup” is central to Lula government’s plans to stay in power

The court itself is central to Lula's government. They are governing through the courts.

Lula wanted to raise taxes, our elected representatives blocked him, the unelected court "resolved the situation" in his favor.

Just recently they retroactively reinterpreted some election rules which led to the removal of elected right wing politicians from power in favor of Lula's communists.

They are the judiciary but also the executive and legislative. They are judge-god-kings. Only reason the other powers exist is to give this country a veneer of democracy.

I just finished reading everything about these leaks and I have to say... Wow.

They literally decided who to arrest based on analysis of social media political speech. One person was apparently targeted for "demonstrating aversion to Lula and the Worker's Party".

Everything feels so hopeless. Trump's sanctions are quite literally the only consequence these people have suffered to this day.
