Perplexity and FastAPI
Why does Perplexity use FastAPI over say Django? Clearly they are doing well and could have done well with either but I'm curious why they went with FastAPI over a more tried and tested framework like Django. The only proof I've found they use FastAPI on the backend are the job postings.(https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/perplexityai/jobs/4601047007) Django is batteries included. Sometimes you don't need the batteries. Thank you, makes sense. Think I’ll try checking it out
