Volume label field can't be longer than "VolumeLabel" when formatting in Windows
It's 11 characters max. Maybe this is common knowledge but I thought it was funny. Intentional? The use of "VolumeLabel" is almost certainly a deliberate choice after much deliberation...in other words the design is so good that nobody notices and when they do they find it remarkable (as your remarks here demonstrate). Just the regular ordinary DOS limitation . . . 8 + 3 = 11
