Ask HN: Do deep tech startups follow one of these 3 fundraising narratives?

2 points by rchaudhary 7 months ago · 0 comments · 1 min read

I wrote a short article based on patterns I’ve seen across deep tech founders and early-stage investors.

The most fundable startups I’ve worked with usually frame their story using one of three narrative types:

1) Unlocking a new category

2) Accelerating a known adoption curve

3) Solving a scaled constraint

I break each down here with examples: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/3-deep-tech-fundraising-narratives-actually-work-rahul-chaudhary-tzbxe/

Would love to hear from others — especially technical founders and investors in hard tech or frontier tech: Have you seen these patterns in the wild?
