Ask HN: Is Apollo.io Ripe for a Class Action Lawsuit
For those of you who many not be aware, YC startup Apollo.io is the largest distributor of business email and contact information for lead generation. If you run a business (especially e-commerce), Apollo.io is the reason you receive dozens of solicitations each day. Without their lead gen database, your spam wouldn't exactly go away but it would be a little more difficult for services like Charm.io and others to scrape and bake your addresses. After receiving untold numbers of solicitations over the years, I started asking myself... is this company a good target for a class action lawsuit? The scope of damages would be quite large. Thoughts?
