My MacBook Pro repair on hold "because we need more information."

I sent my MacBook Pro to Apple for repair, and it arrived there yesterday morning. Since then, a whole day now, it's been in a status of "Our technicians have put your repair on hold because we need more information." I asked about it via Apple's chat support, and they could give me no more information than that.

I must admit I'm a bit worried that the information they need may have to do with getting parts from China in the presence of tariffs!
