Chat-Based Interaction with LLMs Is Suboptimal

Chat isn't suboptimal. I'd argue it is optimal.

What the author is actually saying is that an LLM app doesn't have the context necessary to help you because the things you need it to know are in other apps, your email, your notes, your photos, your videos, etc. This I agree with. But this has nothing to do with the chat interface.

There are two long-term solutions:

1. Windows/macOS/iOS/Android/Linux directly integrate an LLM that can control and see all your apps and data and can use the computer on your behalf

2. An LLM becomes the OS. It's the only app you ever use. It's your email app. It's your note taking app. It's your photos app. It becomes the OS.
