How to communicate with your Asian parents

Really, it's "how to communicate with parents" because I am not Asian and I have been both sides of this conversation over time. It's normal for a bandwidth mismatch and signalling protocol mismatch to exist in this space, it's not an Asia thing.

There's a very interesting if unrelated post in the guardian about "I had the sex education conversation aged 27" by Wing Kuang which is about Asian parent and daughter recognising she's mature, sexually active and the parent wants reassurement she's having safer sex (and probably wistfully wants grandkids)
