This QR code link[1] is super annoying. The QR code is tiny and the whole page doesn't seem to honor browser zoom settings.

It also appears that both QR codes link to the App Store.

They're going the side-loading route because they risk being banned or because of breaking Google Play policies?

Most likely because they are not currently in the Google Play store. (A search brings up a message "Looking to TikTok? Downlaods for this app are paused due to current US legal requirements."

Border wall today, firewall tomorrow. I hate it and it's inevitable.

Trump couldn't manage a border wall in his first term, when he still had the possibility of a second term AND the benefit of surprise on his side. He has two years to get whatever he wants to do on the books, after which he's going to be the lamest of lame duck presidents. Doubly so if the mid-terms go the way you'd reasonably expect.

So no, he isn't going to create some firewall, he isn't going to build a border wall, he isn't going to invade Gaza, he isn't going to do MOST of the things he says. I really thought that people would have figured out by now that Trump's whole MO is to scare/thrill people with irrational claims and plans, while he gets down to the business of enriching himself and basking in the power/attention.

He's a Republican so he'll pass a fat tax cut, and probably very little else.

I am from El Paso on the border. There was a small existing border, mainly a chainlink fence style, my entire life. In 2016-2020 a massive metal structure 20ft tall was built throughout the city. It eventually leads into private ranch lands so I can't really see how far it extends, but yes there was an actual giant border wall built during term one.
