You can also buy a Framework Laptop 13 chassis without Intel or AMD board now for 445€, so the complete RISC-V Framework 13 is 644€.

This is more than twice the price of the Musebook (using a SpaceMIT M1 8-core SoC and also a PCIe slot for an SSD), which has unfortunately not been available for several months now...

Is there any place that actually sells the Musebook for that price? I was only able to find articles about it being "available for pre-order at $299.00", and one Aliexpress seller who wants 740,69€.

It was available for some days last year from http://arace.tech - but it was not explicitly listed IIRC and the product page you found using the search function showed it as pre-order only as you mention.

Nevertheless, I got lucky and was able to order one last year. It's a nice device, but software support outside of the provided Bianbu Linux (a Chinese Ubuntu derivative) is nonexistent and the future of the SpacemiT SoCs is not exactly clear. I can run Ubuntu for the BananaPi F3 (same SoC) from an SD card with working drivers and power management but did not yet succeed in installing Ubuntu on an internal PCIe/NVME SSD I added.

I'm quite surprised that a totally custom risc-v board is the first third-party mainboard for the framework laptop. I'd have expected someone to rush out a Pi compute module carrier board as soon as possible.
