PhD system needs to go. For the 10% of superstars who need to do cutting edge research at a university that isn’t feasible in industry, it’s indispensable. But for the other 90% of graduate students it’s an intellectual serfdom scheme. You work long hours for net minimum wage and the credit goes to your boss. It is my sincere hope that deep research AI will make this corrupt system untenable for future generations.
