The Perl Community [1] is proud to announce the official release of the first stand-alone Perl periodical in over 23 years, the Science Perl Journal issue #1 [2]!

The Perl Community is a 501(c)(3) organization unaffiliated with any other registered Perl organizations; it is based in Austin, Texas. It is dedicated to the advancement of the Perl 5 through its committees, including AI Perl, Perl::Types, and the Science Perl Committees; and publications like the Science Perl Journal.

The journal is sponsored by the Science Perl Committee, and is currently accepting submissions for the upcoming Perl Community Conference [2] on Dec. 18th, Perl's 37th birthday.

Topics in issue #1 [3] include large language models, genetic sequencing, storm surge prediction, counterfeit pharmaceutical detection, and AI-based structuring of unstructured data.
