Revolut urges Meta to share cost of reimbursing fraud victims

"According to Revolut data, 69 per cent of scams that UK customers reported to the fintech in the first half of this year originated on Meta platforms"

That is a huge number. Facebook marketplace, I'd assume, is the main offender here. Surely there are better controls that Meta can put in place?

Does enforcing ad quality really degrade their advertising income that much? Surely it would bolster marketplace traffic if it wasn't seen as the new scam central (from Gumtree / Craigslist).
