That level of data collection by Tesla (or any other manufacturer) is absolutely terrifying, though. I personally consider it entirely unacceptable.
If it were kept on the car itself and never shared with any other entity without my permission (or a court order), that would change the equation a bit. But sharing directly with the manufacturer? Just no.
