Ask HN: Slack downgraded us to a free plan while our subscription is till sep 1
All communication from slack to us indicated that we are on for renewal on september 1. This has affected us badly. Either we have to move out to some service which cares.
If any one of you have experienced something similar then it would be good to know what you did. Quick update: seems one additional user was added and that payment failed due to credit card expired. This made them downgrade the plan for about 80+ users in our account. It is their policy. It seems egregious to me. What are your thoughts? Could you share how exactly did it affect you?
Also, can't you re-initiate the payment collection and go back to the previous plan? I apologize if this is an offtopic but if you're looking for an alternative, then we have tried Mattermost and it was almost identical. Importing slack data took some time and tweaking but in the end, everything went through without any major issues.
Good luck! huly.io has been a big one for us that allowed my team to centralize everything, notion, linear, slack, google meet. it's been great. the founders are cool guys too, i've spoken with them a few time and have some big plans. Big update: Slack support tells me its their bug and have opened a ticket with their billing team.
