Show HN: I wrote a script that finds abandoned websites to buy- FolioFindr.com
foliofindr.comHi everyone!
I've been buying and selling websites for almost 10 years. During this time, a portion of the sites I bought were a result of direct outreach. I'd mostly use a script that helped me scrape google results, extract lastmod date from the sitemap or footer, and filter for sites that hadn't been updated in 1+ years. Then I'd find the contact details of the owner and attempt to close a deal to revive the site.
About a year ago, I decided to turn this into a SaaS, for my own personal use and to help other website flippers find dealflow. It's now (mostly) ready for the world.
Not sure if there is enough stickiness for this to be a product but I use it quite a lot so if it doesn't get much traction I'm not that bothered.
Would love to hear your thoughts! A service that charge $79 for 1 month and $89 for "lifetime" is simply not serious. Haven't put much thought on pricing to be honest. I'll probably delete the 79$/month plan in the future and just have the 19$/month plan and the 89$ one off plan It thinks BuzzFeed and Nature were last updated in 2022, your data doesn't seem accurate. It's about 70% to 80% accurate at the moment, with some obvious mistakes. Working on a fix though. Email me at pedro at foliofindr dot com with the registered email or username for free credits!
