Did he give his own personal money? Or is it company budget?

    Its OpenResearch's budget but OpenResearch is largely funded by Altmans personal donations.

      I personally like how he is trying to think of a way to look after everyone if AI leads to large amounts of unemployment. I like the idea of basic income.

      At the same time though. It's weird. he get's to play around with this money and I am guessing reduces his taxes at the same time?

      I am sure there are some other wealthy people doing similar but for far less benign purposes.
