UK watchdog accuses Apple of failing to report sexual images of children
theguardian.comI think Apple’s position here is commendable. They appear to be holding true to promises of user privacy even though the UK watchdog will be doing everything they can to pressure Apple into becoming part of the massive UK surveillance state. Including making them out to be the ‘bad guys’.
CSAM is prone to false positives, which are enough to ruin people’s lives - but more than that, it’s the same as treating everyone as guilty and doing a raid of your digital ‘home’ without a warrant.

Apple is already a participant in the UK's warrantless surveillance program. They are enrolled in the United States PRISM program which is a known component of the FIVE-EYES international surveillance network. The UK is one of the longest-standing members of the FIVE-EYES network, and a direct consumer of Apple-provided surveillance information.
My bad, I done my research and seen that after Jobs passed away, Apple quickly became part of this Prism program.
So with this new knowledge, yes it’s likely just a strategy to keep people thinking that Apple cares about privacy so to keep using their devices maybe?
Scoundrels!
The NSPCC has a dog in the race with this one.
If the UK watchdog, watch dog, (NSPCC) are aware of CSAM and they did not report it, are they not committing a criminal offence in the UK?
I thought that professionals, especially in areas of child protection like the NSPCC, were legally bound to report all instances of CSAM and not blame someone else for not reporting the CSAM that they found.
