Show HN: A job board exclusively for quantum tech roles
hirequantum.comI recently became annoyed with the poor quality of existing quantum tech job aggregators and the indifferent quality of Indeed/LinkedIn when searching for these roles. It's not great for both job seekers and employers for a few reasons.
The aforementioned sites are polluted by companies that use quantum branding even though they don't do any quantum physics at all (see the first result on LinkedIn for the 'quantum' search term).
Also, the ultra-niche nature of the field, IMO, makes megasites like Indeed and LinkedIn less useful than they would otherwise be, especially for employers. Just having the word 'physics' on a resume does not make someone qualified, yet my friends involved in hiring complain about exactly these kinds of people being funneled to apply by Indeed. This is a waste of money and time.
As the field expands, the amount of listings for supporting engineering roles (RF, mechanical, systems, software, etc) are exploding. I believe having a site dedicated to listing these jobs without competing with other engineering listings outside of the quantum tech field will help capture the attention of engineers who are interested in quantum computing/sensing/comms/etc.
TL;DR- I think it should be easier to find and sort quantum jobs. By serving this specific community, I'm banking on employers seeing a much higher SNR when they see applications originating from my site versus the jobs megasites.
