I'm exploring the potential of widgets on smartphones. Do any of you use widgets that you find highly useful and would recommend to others? I'm especially interested in discovering new categories of widget apps that I haven't seen before. Music player. Podcast control. Toggle and sliders for lights around my house. Volume control for speakers. At a glance bookwyrm viewer to see how friends are progressing through books. Hypothesis list of recent annotarions. Pomodoro timer. Quick multi-modal capture. The only widget I use is a calendar showing my next half dozen appointments. One I have is a button that opens the front door of my office building.
