Hey HN,

We wanted to get your thoughts and feedback on a software development tool we recently released. Buglab is a visual testing tools for websites and web apps. It works by running automated scheduled tests that compare every page to its baseline and notifies you in case there are any discrepancies. That means you can use it both for monitoring that nothing on your product has broken (which could be caused by internal updates or external libraries, APIs, etc.) or for A/B testing to ensure consistency across browsers. It's like a spellchecker for your UI and UX.

Our goal is to eliminate the repetitive and labour intensive testing procedures that so many companies do in their product development cycles and free those humans to do more productive tasks. Buglab’s big advantage is that it tests the fully-rendered end result of the product, not just its code. And another nice benefit is that it can be set-up and used by non-technical people in a matter of minutes.

Please use the link below to set-up an account. It will be credited with 250 free screens to test, but don’t hesitate to contact me in order to get more if you want to test more. My email is my username @buglab.ai.

Looking forward to hearing your feedback.

Your product needs a landing page, and ideally a demo that doesn't require signing in. Take https://antithesis.com/product/demo/ for an example

I've just created an account, and I added my website for the sitemap, but after it was done running, there are no results? There's nothing in the Results > Runs page, there are no projects or tests.

I'm not sure if I did something wrong, or there's an issue with your product.

---

Edit: Ok, I was a bit too fast to leave this comment. I did find a test in Tests > Quick tests, which at first I thought was just a demo test, but it's actually my sitemap.

It created the sitemap with all the links, but there are still no screenshots, so that's still an issue.

    Thanks for the comment!

As one of the co-founders, I highly appreciate critical feedback. Thank you!

The sitemap crawls only the links. You will have to run the test manually. The reason we did that is the free tier limit of 250 pages.

If your website/sitemap has many pages, you cannot play around with Buglab any further as the 250 pages will be blown on creating the sitemap only.

Also, please check your email. We are sending a notification there when your sitemap is done and what to do next.

I understand it may not be the best flow, and we are looking into it.

      Thanks for the reply!

Yep, I definitely did not check my email. I see there are instructions there.

I think it's a pretty cool product for starters, but I'll have to click around more before I can form a full opinion.

Just links to a login/signup form. A "Show HN" IMO should be usable or at least viewable.

Thanks for the feedback. We will work on an onboarding procedure for this demo that's more easily accessible.
