Ask HN: Software Engineer wanting to learn Data Science
I am a senior Software Engineer working about 5 years mostly with java, JavaScript and sql. But I want to have the data science skills for future to change career also I like understanding and finding hidden insights in data I would start by learning Python - specifically the pandas and numpy packages. You’d also want to brush up on mathematical concepts needed for data science, such as linear regression, probability, calculus, statistics. It’s a mesh of everything.
