My Google Pixel 5 is unable to make emergency calls
dev.ribic.baApparently broken emergency calls is a common issue with Pixel phones spanning multiple versions:

But, at least, in one case, the issue was Microsoft Teams app broke 911 dialing on Pixel phones (of course, combinded with an Android design flaw that allowed an app to break 911 in the first place).

I have worked quite extensively on the PinePhone, though only for my own purposes. Have been dogfooding my own system for months as a daily driver, and have implemented quite a lot of things, except for one thing: voice calling.
Even Google and Apple have problems getting that 1 thing working reliably (even though half of smartphone is supposed to be a phone) - I don't even try to take a stab at it. There is some serious bug every once in a while, which sounds so ridiculous... I just carry a dumb Nokia for calls, and for everything else, I can use my slab (assuming its battery is still not dead)
I think this particular issue has only been reported on Pixel phones. Since I searched for it throughout the internet (for a solution), I found a dozen of reports with similar issues as mine. I never experienced this on any other phone.
possibly a very dumb question: can you sue google in small claims court for the money you spent on a defective phone?
