Is complying to kids data regulations worth it?
I believe my startup has a segment of child users and I’m wondering how much work it is to become COPPA, GDPR, and AADC compliant. I saw that Amazon and Meta have been hit with lawsuits and fines in for COPPA violations and it seems like the government is starting to care more about this space — for example, until this week I wouldn’t have expected Congress to pass a TikTok ban.
Has anyone done the work to become compliant to these regulations? How much effort was involved? Did you feel like it was worth it?
