Ask HN: Do you know why Anthropic is mass banning accounts?
There are tons of reports of bans on the ClaudeAI subreddit (check the weekly top). My account was banned immediately after I created it. No one seems to know what is happening, and there is also no communication from the Anthropic side. Support is very poor. They are also refunding Pro instead of unbanning. Are they overwhelmed by their success? EDIT: typo I was on the wait lost for a while. Never got a notice. Signed up over the weekend and got right in. But it was late at night so I have not tried anything since signing up. it almost sounds like it was harder to meaningfully change/correct something than to get copilot to write a shitty script to ban accounts matching a filter condition, and run it from time to time. if it were not current year, that would be meant as a joke. edit1: the filter is likely around fraud detection edit2: or competitor detection
