Show HN: An IDE with version control for writers – ButterDocs
butterdocs.comFelt annoyed with Google Docs' "suggestions", and built an alternative that has git-style branch & merge for better collaboration. We're implementing OT via full-stack Clojure/Script, which was incredibly useful for code-reuse across client and server. I haven't enjoyed the ecosystem of text editors on the web as much as I have local apps. HackMD was really hitting the sweet spot of simplicity and shareability. I'll give it a shot. At first glance it seems like it has the simplicity of a text editor and all the sophistication has gone into collaboration. Kinda what web apps should be about. Been playing with this for a while now while it was still in alpha, and I must say I am super excited where this will go. It's a great writing experience, with powerful tooling, especially for use cases like e.g. the legal profession that goes through many revisions. Looks like a decent solution for text geeks! A bit bummed there's no monthly plan but it seems I can try it out for free! Interesting feature set. Collaborative outlining looks helpful.
