Beacon is a goal and KPI tracking tool. What makes it different is that it uses metric forecasting to objectively determine if you are on track to achieve your goals.
We built Beacon to empower product development teams. Specifically, we wanted to tackle two areas that hold back teams from building products that solve their customers' needs:
1- Top-down decision-making 2- Detached product development teams
These issues are often due to the company culture, but after being an individual contributor and manager in engineering and product teams, I experienced firsthand how the tooling we use exacerbates this. So, I decided to build tools that fix this issue.
Beacon makes goal-tracking objective and data-driven. It makes it easy to set product goals, track progress towards those goals, and forecast if you are on track. Our thesis is that this creates a virtuous product development feedback loop.
We initially released this as a Jira add-on, but we updated the tool to work standalone. Our plan is to make Beacon a must-have tool for data-driven teams, breaking the silos between roadmaps, project management tools, and analytics systems.
