The frightening part of this story for me is the lack of 'evidence' that any friends screenshotted/shared this information.

So if it was sent in a 'private snapchat' group -- and he's now potentially footing a 90k bill? For what? Incredible

    "Picked up from ... wifi servers" means either comms are unencrypted or there is a successful MITM presence there. Also likely is that Snapchat just raised the alarm.

I think the message was more then "I'm Taliban", according to the article it was "On my way to blow up the plane. I'm a member of the Taliban."

I think blowing up the plane was a bigger deal
