Austria, France and Italy lead charge against lab-grown meat

What about the ethical question of slaughtering an animal, especially when there are alternatives such as lab-grown meat? I eat meat and oppose regulations to make it more expensive to combat climate change, but I also don't think there should be needless obstruction of lab-grown meat. Consumers who don't trust it won't eat it.
