Or, a title that isn't editorialized, would be: "Gen-AI: Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Work"

A fun exercise would be to look up economists' predictions about AI and the future of work from the past decade and compare with the status quo. I'd be surprised if many (any?) papers (prior to the release of DALL-E and GPT-3 open beta) had programming and graphic arts high up on the list of vocations facing imminent significant automation.

More generally, I find it hard to trust such studies if they don't attempt at least some sort of backtest of their methodology, which this one does not appear to do.

I can recall back then what was being predicted, the consensus was that content creators such as musicians , animators, writers and the like we're going to have the most success.

I think their predictions were pretty good but unfortunately times are changing once again and all good things…

I’m very ignorant when it comes to economics and it’s reputable players. Is the IMF considered to historically be an accurate source of predictions?

The imf historically has been able to accurately put their fingers on the scale in order to set Government policy that benefits them ! I feel it is best to consider any of their predictions more of a dog whistle to their subservient politicians.

The IMF are like white sharks that advertise to swim in their waters with the claim that they are vegetarians.

They are loan sharks who will sabotage the lives of citizens through corrupt politicians until they have squeezed the last drop of life out of them, in a never-ending spiral once the country is fully sucked into their waters.

Sociopathy even sounds like a euphemism for what these kinds of supranational organisations do.

At this point my main motivation to survive the next decades is to be able to watch the whole thing spiral out of control. Society is composed of three types of people on this subject: the ignorant, the deluded and the realist.

The ignorant will face horrors beyond his comprehension. The deluded kind thinks technology will benefit his estate, like those in the past that argued that by year 2000 man would only need to work 1h per week because "technology". The realist knows technology is a moving train that will leave people behind to starve. Because if you don't have any "money shells" then you don't get to enjoy any technology, you loser.

And the technology will be deployed to control you to keep you from defying your masters.

I hope you feel better soon -- for both of our sakes.
