It's so polished and so Carlin like that I am skeptical about the claim that it was made by AI. There is probably more editing involved than implied by the way that is described. But still, very well polished and a great impression of Carlin. Also interesting commentary.

Yeah, it'd be interesting to get details on what was handcrafted input and what was AI generated. Synchronizing audience reaction with the meaning of what "George" is saying seems like a particularity difficult thing for AI to do unassisted.

i'd bet that this is 80% human effort 20% AI. probably lots of chatgpt jokes heavily edited and stitched together, then rehearsed and recorded by a person, then ran through an AI voice changer.

Agree, those videos need a “making of”. It would be very interesting

This reminded me of the time I saw Carlin live. It was just after one of his special on HBO, so the show I saw was him workshopping all new material for the next special.

Sometimes in the middle of a joke he would stop, say "Sorry I fucked that up I'm gonna start over", and then start over that part of the show. And some of the jokes had funny bits in the middle but when you saw them on the eventual next special they were much tighter and more polished. And sometimes the jokes fell flat and weren't in the next special.

This feels like one of his workshops. If this were preformed live in front of 100 nights of audiences and tuned up, it would be amazing.

I like George Carlin but did not watch everything he made. This video actually has some decent jokes and it really is presented as he would. I am not an expert but in my opinion it could have been him.

As a Carlin and comedy mega fan, I'd be interested in what you consider a joke in there. Personally, this is the sound of hell. There's no soul, no humor, and only the presence of fake laughter to imply where the jokes are supposed to be.

I only listened a bit of the link, skipping around to get the gist, but I got this feeling. Carlin had a talent pointing out the darker sides of human existence in a way that left me feeling a bit more hopeful, and able to cope with them. I'm not sure what feels off, but the AI generated bits lack that magic. It's Carlin-style content thats missing the punchlines.

Wow, the vice link is particularly illuminating. The whole podcast is just PR for some AI company that’s involved in making the show itself? And we can’t know who the company is?

This is stunningly good! I have no idea how much of the content was actually AI generated. I have no idea how much of what I heard was unsupervised/ human altered. But wow!!!
