Ask HN: What is something that needs to be done if you were of my age(22)?
Given that the HN community is so huge and diverse, which is one of the best parts of it, you get to know about a range of perspectives on a spectrum.
My age is 22, and I am learning, discovering, writing, reading, listening, and observing. You, my friend, on the other hand, might be reaching close to the end of your age and ability spectrum. You can't do everything in this lifetime, so I ask, "What is something that needs to be done given that if you were my age right now?".
I ask because you have seen more of the world than me, met more people, gained more experience, & in the end contributed more to society. I look forward to knowing your answer so that the younger generation can actually take this forward. Start investing for retirement and long-term care. The best time to start is yesterday, compound interest is a beautiful thing. Do things you love or pay well enough to do more of the things you love sooner. Develop a modern competing format to the World Wide Web. lol I'm not at the point you're talking about, but just work on something you like. If I could tell my 22-year-old self some unsolicited advice, it would be to not focus on "making it" but instead make things you want to see in the world. I was doing that anyways but it would've been nice to hear. Travel. A lot. Good luck.
