About the role: Medigram is looking for an experienced engineer and hacker to work on our core system architecture and product who will play a key role in product development, from concept to launch. You will be writing code that deploys to production several times a day. You should be comfortable getting in over your head learning new skills and the latest technologies including but not limited to Python, Django, Memcached, MySQL, NoSQL.

We have a fast-paced environment with the right balance of quick, iterative development and more deliberate, smart architecting. The ideal candidate should be ready to take charge and lead features and design.

Key responsibilities:

* Help lead or direct back-end development and server side engineering.

* Develop and deploy new product features.

* Scale and tune the REST api that supports our mobile and web apps.

* Prototype experimental features.

* Manage and implement security features that protect health information.

What we’re looking for:

* Hacker strong with CS fundamentals from Bachelor’s in CS, engineering, related discipline or equivalent industry experience

* Expert with at least one programming languages, and very good with many others.

* Know Python very well or have the ability to learn it quickly.

* Very experienced with web application deployment and software design principles.

* Strong experience with web services including REST.

* Great understanding of SQL databases, MySQL, PostgreSQL.

* Strong unix/linux system administration skills.
