Tell HN: OpenAI is offering Premium Subscriptions again
Based on a n=1 sample anecdata: When they froze premium subscriptions, I joined their waitlist to be informed when they would offer them again, and yesterday I was presented with a message inviting me to subscribe to plus.
Not sure if they've opened the floodgates or if they're doing a phased opening, but I have also not seen any articles covering this development, so leaving it out here for your info. Has anybody else experienced this? Yes, I got a notification in-app that I could now sign up for Plus two days ago. The notification was only in the web app while using ChatGPT. I didn't get an email. Made me wonder if they chose this (pretty small) in-app-only notice so they can gate signups more easily. I signed up for the ChatGPT Premium waitlist a week or 2 ago; I haven't received anything as of today. In related news, my beta access to Mistral was just approved (I signed up this week).
