Hey HN,

Project tracking tools (e.g., Jira) emphasize tasks, not outcomes, creating misaligned incentives. Over the past 10+ years, I have struggled to find a tool that ties day-to-day dev work to product or team goals. So I created Beacon, a Jira addon that puts the emphasis on goals.

Beacon aims to do three things well:

1- Help teams clearly see the goals they're aiming for.

2- Forecast key metrics to alert teams early if their goals might not be met.

3- Show individuals how their contributions are moving the team closer to its goals.
