Pretty awesome that a modification to a protein can be designed and assembled.

Imagine a world where people design and build proteins to do chemistry that's unthinkable today. Dynamic proteins that change form and include molecular machines. To paraphrase, any suitably advanced form of chemistry is indistinguishable from magic.

Artificially engineered prion diseases might be scary. But then we just make a new protein that breaks down those proteins!

    Perhaps a bit optimistic. We have a million ways to kill cancer cells. It’s getting these to the cancer cells without killing everything else that’s the problem. Same issue with prion disease.

It sounds great but is there any concern that certain medical related implants or equipment has been made out of such plastics could be effected?
